The Best Farmers Markets in Denver? | What to Buy, Eat & Explore in the Mile High City

📄 Description:
Inside Denver’s Most Popular Farmers Markets (and What to Buy!)

If you’re wondering where the real heart of Denver lives—it’s not in the skyscrapers or stadiums, it’s at the farmers markets. In this episode of Radically Colorado, we take you with us on a sunny weekend across two of the city’s most beloved community hubs: City Park Farmers Market and Highland Square Farmers Market.

We’re Hayley and Derek—partners in real estate, marriage, and mission-driven living. Every weekend, we hunt down the freshest, most delicious local goods we can find, and these markets never disappoint.

🛍️ What We Found (and When in the Video to Watch)
🕰️ [00:00] Intro
We kick things off at the iconic City Park Farmers Market [01:21], nestled right along Colfax with a backdrop of the Denver skyline and the Museum of Nature & Science.

🧑‍🌾 First up: Foxtown Farms [04:09] had beautiful root vegetables, followed by a visit to More Eggs Please [04:57] where we grabbed a dozen of the best pasture-raised eggs in town.

🥩 We stopped by Buckner Family Meat Farm [05:48] for some locally sourced meats—grass-fed, humanely raised, and absolutely delicious.

🍩 At [06:41], it was time for a sugar fix: Pandemic Donuts. These artistic, chewy donuts are always a highlight (especially the brown butter glaze).

🌿 We wrapped up City Park and transitioned to Highland Square Farmers Market at [07:35], where the energy was different—cozy, tree-lined, and full of neighborhood charm.

🥕 At [11:13], we loaded up on crisp produce from Miller Farms and got into a heated debate with a market regular (playfully!) about line-cutting etiquette at [12:45] in “Moms Never Cut In Line.”

🥐 Next up: Hearth Bakery [14:00] blew us away with buttery pastries, and Five Freedoms Dairy [15:00] had the smoothest milk of the day.

🍄 We closed out with Furst Class Fungi at [16:00], where we picked up some gourmet mushrooms—and wrapped the whole day with a bratwurst and some final reflections [16:42].

🌟 Why We Shop Local
We believe every dollar spent at a farmers market is a vote for the kind of community you want to build. When you support a local rancher, baker, or mushroom grower, you’re choosing quality, transparency, and connection over convenience. Plus—let’s be honest—it just tastes better.

  1. As someone that owns a Styria Bakery II in Denver, and sells at many farmers markets, I enjoyed your video. Thanks for bringing attention to our local markets. We ha e been vendors of the Highland Square market since its first day. If you ever want to do a video about our local business, please feel free to reach out.
